More mediocre movie conversations. Sometimes the world needs a light to show them the way. You won't get that here. This blog is an informal free for all. Enjoy.

This was my favorite episode of the season so far. The return of crazy Lysa. Arya showing off her dance moves. Hodor snapping Locke's neck, and then immediately making me feel bad for how much I loved it.
All that ruckus at Craster's seems pointless... but at least it provided some entertainment... namely Hodor/Bran killing Locke and a weak but satisfying fight for Jon. So I'm guessing all of the wives/daughters just disappear into the nothingness now? Bran and crew and Jon and crew are both back to where they were before this, right?
I always enjoy Lysa's scenes... crazy done so well! But why oh why would they let Robin know any sort of secret? That's illogical and not something Littlefinger would let go. I didn't mind so much that he called Alayne his niece instead of bastard daughter...until I read a comment somewhere about how that would be easier to check. Seems like another mistake he wouldn't make, and now we assume he has family out there somewhere? I suppose it could all be lied away with siblings dying and the such, if need be. Bastard daughter just seemed more Littlefinger like.
I like everything Pascal is doing as Oberyn so far. Good scenes with Cersei, and good to finally see him out of the brothel.
Arya and the Hound continue to be some of my favorites with their dialogue. I don't know if they meant it to show that she needs quite a bit of work on her water dancing still, but that's how I felt. The Hound just sees it all as unnecessary fluff... Go Hound (although you're still a dick for robbing the farmer).
Podrick seems a bit TOO clumsy... he's not a little kid in the show, yet he seems to act like they want him to be at times.
Interesting to learn that the Lannisters are going broke... or at least not mining anymore gold.
The minor gripes aside, I really enjoyed this episode as well. It has me looking forward to more Lysa, Oberyn, and just excited for the trial in general!
Looks like the trial is starting up next week, as well as finally getting a glimpse into what Yara has been up to.
With Arya and the Hound, I took that as another lesson in showiness vs. brute strength. For all of Arya's fine needlework, she can't even get past the Hound's armor. She's never going to be able to cross someone like him off her list by going straight at him. I thought this fit nicely with Jon's fight with Karl. Jon's got the priceless sword and the training, but it does him no favors against someone not willing to play by his rules.
Did Robin Arryn never know who Sansa actually is in the book? If so, I completely forgot about that.
Adding any kind of pitstop to Bran's journey is worthwhile for me, because without it, he's been doing the same thing for 15 episodes. Craster's gives Hodor, of all people, character moments, gives Jojen maybe his best work on the series, and lets Bran makes a clear choice to keep going on his journey. It's one thing to keep heading north when there's nowhere else to go; it's another to see a safer option and refuse it.
Unclear where this puts Jon for the rest of the season. It's not like the mission was a complete success, since they lost several men. Have to wait and see. Craster's wives could show up again as substitutes for something that happens in late Dance With Dragons, but who knows.
I imagine Jon spends his few moments the rest of the season preparing men for Mance's attack on the wall.
According to Grantland's Ask the Maester Littlefinger does has family but he grew up with Lysa and Cat under a similar arrangement that Theon grew up in Winterfell.
I feel like it's only a matter of time before Lysa and Robin fall through the moon door and Littlefinger more directly turns his attention to Sansa.
Pretty similar circumstances I guess... just Theon was of much higher birth and was a captive made ward, while Littlefinger was fostered due to a friendship.
I don't recall any mention of Petyr having siblings, but wouldn't surprise if he did. Even if it's just made up for the show, it seems like that's a lie that could be looked into easier than claiming a bastard child from a random woman who fled/died/etc.
I wanted to kick the little shit through the moon door when he threw the bird gift out of it!

I loved the scene with Arya and The Hound, I appreciate the humor.
